On March 29th, 2023 Sunset Auto Group proudly presented a $10,000 check donation to the Senior Friendship Centers! For 50 years, Senior Friendship Centers has been a big advocate for the elderly around the community and provides many vital services to local senior citizens, such as: crisis support, maintaining independence, and empowering them to live an active lifestyle. We support Senior Friendship Centers mission within our community! 

On February 22nd, 2023 Sunset Auto Group presented The Florida Center for Early Childhood with a $10,000 donation. The Florida Center provides developmental therapies, mental health counseling, and the Starfish Academy preschool in Sarasota and North Port. From all of us at Sunset Auto, thank you for all that you do! 

 

Continuing to stay Connected Through Community! On Wednesday, February 15th General Manager of Sunset Kia of Sarasota, Kevin Simmons, presented Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota with a $10,000 donation. Sertoma Club is a 501(c)3 organization that raises funds to help area children and adults who face speech, language and hearing challenges. 

 

On February 8th, 2023 Sunset Auto Group presented a $10,000 check to the team at Safe Children Coalition. SCC assists local families and children in need through adoptions, foster care, protective supervision, and voluntary family services. What a way to start the new year! On January 18th, 2023 Executive Director, Andrea Jackson (middle), presented Laurel Lynch (left) and Char Young (right) of HOPE Family Services at the site of their upcoming Children Counseling Center with a $20,000 donation. HOPE's primary purpose is to provide services to survivors of domestic violence and help them stay safe, gain strength, and evaluate their options. On December 20th, 2022 General Manager, Mike Freeman of Sunset Chevy/Buick/GMC and Finance Manager, Webb Jackson, presented Scott Eller and the team at Community Supported and Assisted Living with a $10,000 donation. Community Assisted and Supported Living (CASL), is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization which provides affordable housing and other needed services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse problems and co-occurring disorders, as well as to wounded veterans and the homeless.

 

In the spirit of giving, we are proud to present Sarasota Crew with a $15,000 donation on December 7th, 2022. Sarasota Crew is a local Rowing Club that utilizes competitive rowing to promote a strong character, positive self-concept, as well as many other qualities for all youth and adults in Sarasota County and its surrounding communities. 

 

Continuing to stay Connected Through Community! Our General Manager of Sunset Cadillac of Venice and Sunset Kia of Venice, Jeff Kaminske (middle) presented Todd Miller, Director (left) and Reed Stoner, Ambassador (right) of Community Assistance Ministry with a $2,000 donation to help local families in need. Sunset Cadillac of Venice, as well as Sunset Kia of Venice also hosted a canned food drive to assist CAM in their efforts to help feed families in the area. 

 


We are thrilled to be a sponsor of the 12th annual Superhero 5k race and Kids Fun Run held by Bridge A Life on February 11th, 2023. Bridge A Life is a local 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization that provides faith based hope for children with relational trauma through awareness and family support. 

 


Sunset Auto Group was a sponsor for the 2022 Tee It Up for a Cause Golf Tournament held on October 24th, 2022 by the Sarasota South Side Rotary Club. Proceeds from the event went towards better helping serve the surrounding communities in need!

Staying Connected Through Community! On May 18, 2022 Executive Director Andrea Jackson, General Manager, Jim Lander, and Audi Area Sales Manager, Craig Heringhaus presented Jeffrey Jean, Program Director, William McKeever, Executive Director, and Zachary Pastor, Academy Member of The Academy at Glengary with a $15,000 donation! The Academy at Glengary, is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization which provides Mental Health Recovery to those in need. 

 

It was a great day to be on the course to raise money for such a great cause! We are honored to again be the Silver Sponsor for the 2022 Meadows Cup held by Easterseals Southwest Florida on April 24th, 2022. Easterseals is a non profit organization that offers the highest quality of care to children, youth, and adults with disabilities so that they can enjoy access, opportunities, and increased life choices! 

 


What a way to spend a beautiful day! Sunset Auto Group recently sponsored the Educational Outreach Gardens "Garden Party". Educational Outreach Gardens hosted this event to develop the grounds around the Twin Lakes Park (TLP) Extension office into a premier horticultural education garden. This multifaceted project includes an Educational Greenhouse, Americans with Disabilities Act compliant Sensory Garden, outdoor classrooms, raised beds for edibles, and Florida-Friendly demonstration gardens!

Community Assisted and Supported Living (CASL), is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization which provides affordable housing and other needed services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse problems and co-occuring disorders, as well as to wounded veterans and the homeless.  Founded in 1998 in Sarasota county,  by 2016 CASL had expanded services to four additional counties - Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier.   CASL serves 580+ low or very low income clients at 140 locations.  Licensed case workers and life coaches provide residents with living skills training, medication management and other assistance based on individual need.
