Its sharp handling and explosive acceleration are a match for sports cars costing tens of thousands more, but its also comfortable and refined enough to drive cross-country. The C8 is offered as both a convertible and a coupe. Its cabin is cozy but comfortable, and there's adequate trunk storage for groceries or luggage, making the Corvette an easy sports car to live with on a daily basis. It can also cover the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds and run up to a top speed of 194 mph. The V-8 purrs like a big cat at low rpm, and roars like that big cat got angry when you floor it. It launches hard and fast, pinning occupants back in their seats. The interior design takes the driver-focused concept to the max, bisecting the cockpit with a tall bank of switches for the car's climate-control system. It's easy to be impressed by the C8. Its performance rivals that of sports cars costing nearly twice as much, yet the Corvette is still everyday comfortable and practical. But it's the performance that shocks the most. The transformation has been nothing short of jaw dropping.
