Four-cylinder engines be damned, the Ghibli offers a 345-hp twin-turbo V-6 as standard while upper trims come with either a 424-hp version of that engine. To go along with its powerful engines, the Ghibli's chassis is set up for driving thrills, it's a joy to pitch down a curvy back road. The Maserati's styling and performance make it endearing, plus its relative obscurity means it turns heads like Italian exotics from Ferrari and Lamborghini. All Ghibli models come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features a glossy display and runs a re-skinned version Google's Android Automotive interface. Navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all standard. When I first saw the Ghibli I had to admit, it is a very beautiful automobile. In verde royale it feels understated, almost elegant. Taking it out for the first time however, I was a little nervous, as it felt like a lot of car. The ride was smooth, almost butterysomewhat unexpected given the Ferrari-built 3.0 L Twin Turbo V6 makes 424 hp. Once I had cleared New York City traffic, I really got to enjoy the Ghiblis handling which was tight and responsive as youd expect from an Italian sports car. Something about the Ghibli, however, felt more graceful than its peers, which is a major plus if you plan on using this vehicle as a true daily driver. The Ghibli really came to life on the rural back roads of eastern Pennsylvania, with its long curves and undulating blacktop. There's no denying that this car turns heads, but perhaps more in the vein of admiration than envy. If I owned this car I would definitely feel excited every time I had to go somewhere. People would be shocked at my sudden willingness to pick them up at airports. I might even spend a few minutes each day staring at it from the sitting room window.
