As comfy family transport, the Pathfinder excels. The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder is reasonably spacious and pleasant to drive. Nissan has given it a lot of in-car tech and driver aids too. The Pathfinder does a good job of hauling people and cargo in relative comfort. The versatile Pathfinder can accommodate a large family with all three rows up, or lots of cargo if you fold one or both rows down. In turns, the Pathfinder feels composed and stable. We were surprised at how well the Pathfinder handled on the road. The ride is comfortable without feeling overly soft or bouncy. How's the interior? All three rows offer plenty of space for adults. Our test Pathfinder had the second-row captain's chairs. There's a center console between them that's pretty easy to remove. Outward visibility is good. The big mirrors and upright windows help reduce blind spots and aid with parking. The driving position helps too. How's the tech? The Pathfinder is loaded with tech. Our test vehicle was fitted with Nissan's ProPilot Assist driver aid suite. It includes adaptive cruise control and a lane-centering system. Its smooth V-6 engine provides adequate power, its suspension is well-tuned for comfort, and its cabin is both spacious and quiet. The V-6 makes 284 horsepower in most models but is cranked up to 295 in the Rock Creek trim. Upgrading to the all-wheel-drive system also adds a set of seven drive modes, including the off-road-focused Sand and Mud/Rut mode. At our test track, our front-wheel-drive Pathfinder SL test vehicle got to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds; the model with all-wheel drive managed it in 6.6 seconds. Those results mean the all-wheel-drive Pathfinder is quicker than the Kia Telluride and the Toyota Highlander. The Pathfinder sports a modern and trucklike interior design with comfortable front seats and well-placed controls. Three rows of seating can accommodate up to eight riders, but buyers can choose to swap the standard second-row bench seat for captain's chairs, a desirable feature in a family crossover, that reduce capacity to seven. Nissan has integrated storage cubbies throughout the cabin, including a large bin below the center console that's accessible by the driver or front-seat passenger.
