With an electric motor dedicated to each of the front and rear axles, the Model S offers full-time all-wheel drive no matter which version you choose. Acceleration of the various models ranges from outstanding to ferocious. We haven't tested the Model S Long Range yet, but our 2020 Model S test vehicle delivered a blistering 2.4-second zero-to-60-mph time and proved endlessly entertaining thanks to its immediate power delivery. The standard Model S has proven itself an agile sports sedan with well-controlled body motions and direct steering. Ride comfort is good, the handling is crisp, and it's confident and almost tranquil on the highway. The Model S's sloped roofline cleverly hides a rear liftgate that opens up to reveal a huge 26-cubic-foot trunk. We managed to stash eight of our carry-on-size cases without folding down the rear seats. Room inside is plentiful for both passengers and cargo. The sedan uses its large footprint efficiently. Theres 28.0 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats, and the hatchback makes it easy to load in larger items as well. Fold down the rear seats and that expands to 61.4 cubic feet. The touchscreen is fantastic, intuitive and extremely fast. The Model S doesnt have any interior feature options, because everything comes standard, including the 17.0-inch touchscreen up front and the 8.0-inch touchscreen for backseat passengers. The large screen is beautiful, with 2200x1300 resolution and responds instantly to all kinds of inputs. Theres no jittering when zooming the map or opening any of the menus, showing what can happen when a company doesnt skimp on processing power as well as horsepower. Behind the center console is an 8.0-inch touchscreen for backseat passengers to watch videos or control the climate functions.
